Muslimahs Peace Circles(MPC)

MPC will meet once a week providing a space for young women and girls to come and learn about different topics regarding women’s health and safety. Participants will have conversations about topics that are otherwise taboo in the East African Community. Our goal is to provide a safe place and follow it up by providing resources.

Teen Awareness Sessions

These sessions will be youth-centered prevention education programs that will educate young people of color in our community. This will provide education on healthy relationships and ways to be aware of unhealthy signs in relationships. We will also equip teens in these programs to be able to lead peers in future sessions. We will host monthly outings such as; hiking, picnics, field day activities, and fitness centered activities.

Sister Support groups

Sessions will aim to connect women with mental health professionals, provide continuous career coaching and assistance with furthering education if needed.  Our support group with our domestic violence advocate in which women of color in the community can come to share experiences of Domestic violence and develop tools to heal from such experiences. We will provide educational resources and support in any way that individuals in the community need..

Community Members Feedback

“It’s a space of trust, love and understanding. It’s a space where you have the trust with those around you to understand and appreciate the sorrow behind your smile.. To make sense of the love behind your anger. And last but least, the meaning behind your silence. Where you can lean on each other and give each other strength you all mightily need. ”

— Brother Hamza

“I love how all of the sessions are based off of our input as participants. MAAC takes our needs and requests seriously and that's something I appreciate. I also think that this peace circle has been super important in filling a void that was greatly needed during the pandemic. I want to ask that regardless of who shows up or who participates in the sessions, to continue doing them. I also want to encourage MAAC to continue doing more programs for the community insha allah! Great job guys!.”
